Backpack Kid is a teen internet celebrity who gained popularity because of his quirky dance videos on Instagram. He has over 730,000 followers.

“Backpack Kid” was born in Georgia. His style is quirky and he likes to do funny acts with a straight face. After he appeared on SNL, he started fielding business opportunities. Then, he got invited to perform on Katy Perry’s “Swish Swish” video.

When Backpack Kid performed the “Swish Swish” dance on SNL, the video racked up over 545 million views on YouTube. It was then reposted by Rihanna. Soon, the hashtag #BackpackKid became a viral trend.

Backpack kid started wearing a backpack on stage and carrying a water bottle and charger in it. Several rappers and dance duos have featured him in their music videos. In addition, he has appeared in an ESPN segment where NFL players are seen flossing in an end zone.

Backpack kid was a cult hero among teen celebrities and social media users. However, he has faced legal battles as a result of the move. A lawsuit was filed against Epic Games and the company has declined to comment.

Epic games dismissed the lawsuit because it did not believe that the floss dance was registered to the kid. But Ribeiro is pursuing similar claims against NBA 2K developers.

Horning has also joined the controversy. Initially, Backpack Kid claimed that he invented the “Floss” dance. Eventually, the 16-year-old’s claim became more credible after he performed the move during the live episode of SNL.
