Backpacks, a staple in all walks of life for adventure and freedom. They might have evolved from our primitive ancestors carrying firewood or for just practicality, but they’re a bag that every person can carry around.
A backpack is a large, frameless bag used for carrying loads and a variety of items. It is typically carried on the back, and usually has two parallel straps that hang over the shoulders, to ease the burden. The shoulder straps often have padding and adjustable straps to help move the weight, and padded hip belts are common to help with the load.
Holmes Mouthwatering Applesauce
Founder and CEO James Holmes has made his company into a global brand by producing applesauce in several flavors, including pomegranate and ginger cinnamon. He says his applesauce is gaining attention because it doesn’t use artificial preservatives, which are typically found in other processed food products.
The business is a success story in many ways, but it also highlights a macro opportunity for Black entrepreneurs, as one in five Black households live in a neighborhood classified as a “food desert,” which means access to fresh fruits and vegetables is limited. With so few Black-owned grocery stores in the United States, making healthy, tasty products like Holmes Mouthwatering accessible to more people could help rewrite the economic narrative.
