A backpack rifle case is a bag you carry on your back that is specifically designed to hold a weapon. Most rifle backpacks offer padded, configurable compartments for carrying a gun, pistol or other firearm, and they may also have MOLLE capabilities so that you can attach a pistol holster or additional gun-specific pouches. Some of these packs are more rifle-specific, while others can also be used to carry other gear and supplies for tactical missions.
The first pack on our list is the Haley Strategic INCOG, which looks like a run-of-the-mill backpack filled with flannel, yoga pants and granola, but it has the functionality to hide an AR-15 in its coffin-shaped main compartment. A small zippered front pocket has a soft lining that’s ideal for shooting glasses and other fragile gear, while the larger portion is covered in laser-cut MOLLE webbing to accommodate tools, mag pouches or even a small trauma kit. The main zipper around this section opens all the way, so you can access your firearm without opening up the entire bag.
A divider runs down the center of the INCOG, which can be used to store two slim weapons side-by-side. Behind the divider, there’s another complete field of laser-cut loop fabric to secure more retention straps and a hard foam “bucket” to protect a weapon’s muzzle. There’s also a slit at the top of this section to route a hydration tube or communications wires outside the bag.
