The Backpack Expander in Team Fortress 2

If you have a premium account in Team Fortress 2, every Smissmas you get a backpack space-increasing item called the Backpack Expander. The item adds 2 pages worth of slots to your inventory in the game. This means that you can have up to 4 weapons, a melee weapon, and 3 attachments in your backpack at any given time. This is good news for people who enjoy playing competitive TF2 loadouts like the soldier, demoman, or engineer.

If your backpack doesn’t have enough space, you can create a Backpack Expander by combining two weapons that are of the same type in the crafting menu. You can also increase your inventory space by purchasing a new weapon or upgrading to premium which will give you extra slots.

The backpack expander is a zippered storage spot near the bottom of the packbag that’s designed to hold a sleeping bag. It’s great if you don’t want to use a stuff sack for your sleeping bag or you need to store gear that isn’t compatible with your sleeping bag, such as wet clothes or a helmet.

Sam is a backpacker, trail runner, and mountain biker who has backpacked the Pacific Crest, Continental Divide, Grand Enchantment, and Colorado Trail (3 times!) as well as many shorter backpacking trips. He’s also worked at a gear shop and has extensive knowledge of brands, designs, and features that make up a quality backpacking pack. This is reflected in his reviews and testing of packs.
