Backpack Aesthetician

The Backpack Aesthetician is a new kind of painter that seeks to bring back the “old” good times – before there were all those backpack contours and colors. They are a group of five guys who like to spend their weekends making things that are “ugly”, as they say. They meet each weekend in a small house in the burbs of Pittsburgh, where they discuss their latest and greatest creations. Their website is absolutely loaded with photos of their work and some are even worth looking at, such as their custom tattoo designs or their colorful acrylic paintings. Their motto reads: “We paint what we see.”

You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter or check them out in their own gallery of works. You might also like their blog. Their favorite past time is hanging out with fellow painters and discussing the latest news in the fine arts. On this website you will find an enormous gallery of art works, all of which were personally made by these five painters. You will surely be fascinated by their charming paintings and whimsical characters. One of their most famous creations is entitled: The Nightmare Before Christmas Ball.

If you are wondering how someone so young could possibly put such wonderful art into such an ugly backpack, it is probably because Backpack Aesthetician just has a knack for what he does. As a matter of fact, he said that his favorite pastime is to go shopping for artwork and bringing home his masterpiece, only to bring it home and tear it up. His philosophy of painting is simple: “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.” In essence, he is a backpack aesthetician, and thus has experienced all the pain and joy that comes along with this craft.
